Japan has a lot of crazy stuff, including these Sailor Moon pads. When I saw them on JBox, I immediately bought them, because yeah, I wanted the power of the moon to protect my uterus.
There are several varieties of these, and even some tampons, but I decided to just pick up some overnights and regular.
Overnight
The overnight pads come in a gigantic package. Each pad is 36cm in length, so they’re kinda huge. There are 14 pads per package.
The back of the box shows some pictures and the design!
Sailor Moon overnight pads
Isn’t it cute? I never thought I’d say that about a pad, haha.
Daytime Sailor Moon pads
The daytime pads come in a much smaller package. There are 21 pads in the package, and they have wings! That’s important.
And these are also super cute! *____* Each one is 24cm in length!
So, there you have it, Sailor Moon pads~ You probably feel like you’ve seen everything now. XD
A few notes to end the post:
These are SUPER SOFT. So much softer than American pads.
The overnight are LONG. If you have trouble at night, you might want to look into getting some of these just because they cover everything.
Something Snacks is a newish food subscription box. The cost is $13 a month and you’ll be introduced to both new and familiar tastes!
Since giving up on Love With Food (I just don’t like the snacks included. There are lots of repeats and they are BORING repeats) I’ve been looking for a cheap food subscription to fill it’s place. I found out about this box through various blogs, so I thought I’d subscribe!
winner
For the month of March, Something Snacks was having a contest. If you found a “pot of gold” it means you’re a winner. I found this and was super excited! :O I didn’t actually think I’d win something. I instantly posted on Instagram (papperdellex) and was told I’m 2nd place, but I honestly don’t know how they are matching up the prizes? If I don’t get an email from them soon, I’ll probably be annoying and email them. :p
Nunes Farm Fancy Nuts – Roasted Salted Pistachios! – Yum, these look good! I will have to eat them before friday, because I am starting a dental work adventure starting friday.
Inka Chips – Plantain Chips – I LOVE PLANTAIN CHIPS! I just never buy them. So, I’m super happy to get these! I haven’t tried them yet, but I plan to eat them all tomorrow. I know that once I start eating them, I won’t be able to stop.
Burts British Hand Cooked Potato Chips Sea salt & malted vinegar – These look interesting! These are an imported potato chip. I always look forward to trying imported products!
Both of these bags are already empty!
Crispy Fruit – tangerine – I never thought of freeze drying tangerines, and this is GENIUS! I loved these so. freaking. much. I just can’t describe them. They’re good. So good I might buy a dehydrator so I can freeze dry some tangerines.
Sea Veggies – These are roasted seaweed sheets. I love roasted seaweed, so I was happy to eat them. It’s only 35 calories a bag, so it felt healthy!
The last items in the box! Be-Bop Biscotti Grasshopper mint and some dipped shortbread cookies! Both of these items are amazing. I ate the Biscotti for breakfast. My husband took the cookies. It was a fair trade.
Overall, this was an awesome box~ I am looking forward to my free months for winning. I hope they contact me soon about that! In any case, I do recommend this box, because the snack assortment is fantastic! This is quickly becoming my favorite subscription, and this is after my first box!
Le Parcel is a monthly TOM (time of the month) box for women, meaning, it’s a box for your period, containing period supplies. I tried Le Parcel about a year ago and it wasn’t too successful. They sent my box out late (like three weeks after I told them I’d get my next period), so I wasn’t too happy and immediately canceled.
The cost is $20 a month and you get 30 period items of your choice, including pads, and some gifts. I always hate when TOM boxes don’t offer pads. This one does.
They recently went through a revamp, so I thought I’d try it again.
I don’t think the box it comes in is very discreet. I think “every month without fail” and “#celebratewomanhood” pretty much screams “MY VAGINA IS BLEEDING!” I personally don’t care, but I know a lot of people who do, so, uh, yeah. There are a lot of TOM boxes that are actually discreet, but this one not so much so.
The box came with this postcard with a poem. It’s pretty darn corny.
The first thing I pulled out of the box were the supplies. Period supplies. 25 pads I ordered plus 5 panty liners. They were loose in the package, so that’s kinda weird. I’d prefer just a 16 count box or something, but whatevs. That’s not the fun part! The fun part are the gifts!
Inside one of the pouches were 3 truffles from Knot. I think they send random flavors because I saw someone get an espresso flavor. Anyway, even though they are .67 ounce each, I would have liked to see just a little more than 3 chocolates! I’m a fatbutt, so I appreciate more chocolate.
The gifts were: Kitsch Black Hair ties, Puur Fresh Peppermint foot lotion (2oz) and a Pura Vida bracelet. I don’t like the bracelet. I like the colors, but the fit is awful. The Kitsch ties are pretty generic, but the foot lotion is AMAZING. It really is. It’s awesome. Thankfully, I remember you can buy Puur products on Etsy, so I’ll probably buy a full size of this! It smells so good and feels great.
Overall~ I’m not sure if I’d recommend Le Parcel. If you like Knot Chocolates and the gifts, maybe, but I think Bonjour Jolie offers more in the way of TOM boxes and is the same price. I do think the packaging is kinda pretty, but packaging isn’t really everything!
Puella Magic Madoka Magic is my favorite anime of all time, no, scratch that, favorite anything of all time. :3 I have a very soft spot for it, so I’m surprised that I’ve not mentioned it on this blog so far because I buy almost anything Madoka related, lol. Anyway~ This is my latest Madoka item – vanilla wafer cookies! I bought the jumbo pack of 20. If you’re curious, you might be able to find them on AmiAmi.
Side box
The side of the box features the girls in bikinis. Kinda cute. xD
More bikini shots.The cookies! 😀
The box opens up and instantly tons of cute packaging is seen! There are two different designs on the packages themselves.
So super cute!
They’re so cute that I kinda don’t want to eat them. :3
Back of the packages – only 73 calories!Opened cookie
These are very large vanilla wafer cookies. Thankfully, they’re huge and only 70 odd calories! :O The cookies aren’t very sweet, which I like, and only have a hint of vanilla flavor. They’re kind of addictive. In fact, I’d be hard pressed to not eat the whole box at once, but as fat as I am, I do have some self control, so one at a time. XD I want to make them last!
Cute collectible card~
Inside each pack is a collectible card! I was actually super impressed with these cards. ❤ They’re very high quality and I actually want to collect them all. Sadly, since this is a limited item, I probably won’t be able to. There are 20 different cards and only 20 cookies in a box, so my chances are slim.
Overall, I really enjoyed these cookies! ❤ I hope in the future I can snag more Madoka goods!
My two packages. Note the very noticeable photo shopping to remove shipping address. :p
AlphaBeautyUK is an eBay seller based in Hong Kong who sells a lot of neat Japanese things, like Dolly Wing and Heroine Make. Even though they are based in Kong Kong, the products they offer are legit and not fakes. I know that is a major concern when shopping eBay for import beauty products. 😦
They ship first-class international, so shipping is quite fast and shipping numbers are provided! I placed one order, but for some reason, it came in two packages.
Good packaging.
They use tons of bubble wrap, so items are pretty protected during transit!
Everything in good shape!
As you can see, everything got to me in good shape! 😀 They carry interesting brands and items!
Here is what I bought, with links (none are referral links):
SaraFit – This is a brand of watery sunscreen essence from Rohto Japan. I’ve known for a long time the best aging prevention for the skin is sunscreen, but implementing it has been another thing. I don’t like most sunscreens, but this one is absolutely amazing. It is watery, non-whitening and feels like a skincare essence. :3 It actually makes my makeup go on more smooth! I’ve been using it for 3 weeks now and I absolutely love it.
Shiseido Japan Water In Lip Lip Cream (Sakura) – This is a pretty generic lip balm. I bought it because of the packaging, but it is nothing special. It isn’t even as good as Chap Stick in the US. Oh well. We can’t win them all! D:
Rhoto Lychee Eye Drops – These are absolutely amazing and also super cute. I always hate using my husband’s super cooling Rhoto eye drops, so I bought these Lychee ones for myself because the bottle and the pink liquid. These are just as good as the other Rhoto eye drops, but they don’t burn my eyes, so I like them a lot.
Japan fuwarinka Beauty Collagen Rose Water – Oh my days. This is so good. This stuff has a very unique flavor and is absolutely fantastic. I thought it was going to taste weird, but it is sweet, kinda floral, and highly addictive. The only problem is it is kinda expensive so I cannot really drink it regularly. It is lovely to just sip on and I highly recommend trying it out at least once. The most unique drink mix I’ve ever had. If you’re wondering how to use it, just mix one stick with a standard bottle of water.
Overall, AlphaBeautyUK is a great seller! 😀 If you’re looking for something quirky, I’d recommend checking the store out. The prices are pretty good and the shipping time is quite fast. I got my package about 2 weeks after ordering.
Oishii Box is a Japanese snack subscription box. According to old estimates, it was $12 per month, but the price has raised to $14.99 per month, which is what I paid for this box. I have been buying Japanese candies online since I was 10, and at 28, that means I’ve been in niche for almost two decades (much old). It takes a lot to impress me, and sadly, I couldn’t recommend this box to somewhat like myself. But I would recommend it to someone new to the Japanese snack world!
Four Tirol Chocolates – two Biscuit milk chocolate and two strawberry jelly – Tirol are a really interesting brand of chocolates, but sadly, included here are some of the less interesting ones. Tirol releases all kinds of crazy flavors in Japan, some of which you can see here @ Napa Japan. I’ve always found this brand of chocolate to be bland, even with the interesting flavors.
Marukawa Gum – These gums are super cheap and come in jumbo packs, so I wasn’t too excited to see them. I think when someone firsts delves in the world of Japanese candy, they’ll probably try these. They’re not great. The flavors are kinda good, but they’re like any generic gumball machine gum. They quickly get old.
Meiji Sushi Gummy Kit – These can be bought at Asian Food Grocer pretty cheap (actually, I think everything in this box was sourced from AFG because there were AFG stickers on the back of some of the products.) The gummies are pretty tasty and have good flavors. It isn’t nearly as much fun as the package makes it look.
Flower Kiss Candy – I got four candies from a larger bag. Not very exciting! These are lightly sweet candies. I guess they’re suppose to have some floral undertone in them, but I have never tasted the flower in them.
Orchids Party Cracker Mix – I’ve had these before, and they’re quite good! In fact, I am eating them right now. :p It’s a small bag, so I don’t feel bad about eating them! If you like rice crackers, you’d like these!
Yan Yan Chocolate Hazelnut – Yan Yan is another snack I think most Japanophiles have had, though they aren’t a product of Japan, but rather Singapore. These are little breadsticks you dip in a chocolate sauce. I like them a lot and have bought them many times in the past. The hazelnut stuff kinda tastes like Nutella, but not quite as good. I’d rather buy the Nutella dipper packs! :p
My favorite part of the entire box was… the outer box. Yeah, the snacks weren’t exciting, and I couldn’t really recommend this box to someone who buys Japanese snacks all the time. It’s not as exciting as a box directly sourced from Japan, because I’m pretty sure anyone interested in Japanese candy has probably had all this stuff before.
I won’t complain about value with this box because I think it is about discovery, but I’ve discovered all this stuff on my own long, long ago. If you’re someone located in the US who hasn’t really been buying Japanese snacks for decades, then yes, go for it! But if you’re someone like me who spends probably $100 a month on Japanese candy imported straight from Japan, you might want to avoid it because you’ve had it all before.
Of course, this is my opinion just off one box. Who knows – maybe next month will be better. I do like all the snacks included, expect for the gum; I really wish they’d skip that.
One thing to keep in mind – everything from this box can be found at AsianFoodGrocer for less money.
Japan has a lot of Kit Kat bars, and unlucky for me, I’m obsessed with them all so I tend to buy them if I see them. This one was purchased from Candysan. The price I paid was $1.85, not including shipping.
The product comes in a box and inside are three individually wrapped Kit Kat Bars. The pink wrapping is totally adorable!
I also love the coloring of the actual bar. They’re super bright green! :O
Of course, the most important thing is taste, and these are terrific. The green tea flavor isn’t as strong as the original green tea Kit Kats, but it is there. It mostly just has a very sweet, white choclateish flavor, with a green tea undernote. I didn’t taste any “sakura” in it, but that could just be because I don’t know what sakura tastes like. xD But I didn’t detect anything but sugar, chocolate, and green tea. So, I dunno. They were good, though! But not as addictive as the original green tea ones.
Overall, I’d rate these probably a 7/10. Addictive, yes, but not as addictive as other ones! I would recommend buying them if they’re cheap, though, because they’re still really delicious.
disclaimer: this post does contain a referral link. I’d appreciate if you would use it if you decide to buy from Candysan! I paid for this item with my own money.
Yumvelope is a subscription service that sends out “healthier” snacks made with less processed ingredients. I say “less” because everything in a box is still processed, obviously, but this stuff just has things on the ingredient label that you can pronounce, which is always a plus!
For $21, you get a variety of unique and delicious snacks! Most of the stuff you cannot really find locally, unless you go to someplace fancy like Whole Foods – and even then, you might not find it. It’s a lot of fun to get this box! 😀 Though, I think Yum-o-Box would be a better name for the sub, since it no longer comes in an envelope. 😦
Alter Ego Truffles
Alter Ego Truffles – Assorted box – Aw, yes, truffles. I will never complain about getting a box of truffles. These are also very tasty! I tried the sea salt truffles and I am certainly pleased with them! They might not be as good as Godiva, but they are mighty tasty. :3 Plus, USDA Organic!
More delicious
Ellas Heavenly Hunks – Original Oatmeal– Ugh, these were too good. So good that I need more of them. So buttery tasting and just, wow. If you like oatmeal cookies, you’d like these. :3
Goodlife Granola – I have not tried this yet, but the enclosed card said that this is a Yumvelope subscriber favorite, so I am looking forward to it! It does look mighty good! The only thing I don’t like about granola is that while it is healthy, I could eat an entire bag at once, which kinda negates everything healthy about it.
More delicious~
Mayesa Cacao Mint and Mixed Berry – I have had these before and I LOVED them. I’m really happy to see two more flavors for me to try! The taste is so rich and smooth and really impressive for a healthy drink.
Amrita Energy Bars – I am a nursing student, so anything I can just stuff in my bag and eat later in the day is appreciated! I am looking forward to trying these bars!
So, I am very happy with this Yumvelope shipment! I’ll eat everything – but then again, I’m not exactly picky, so if I say I’ll eat everything, it really doesn’t mean much. Even so, everything looks super delicious! I enjoyed this box a great deal and will stay subscribed for next month!
disclaimer: I paid for this box myself, no referral links
I have not bought a Memebox in a really long time, but for some reason, I actually liked how the contents of the Cutie Pie Marzia 4 box looked. Shocking, I know! But for some reason these products had to be mine. o.o I just got it today, and thankfully, I like everything in the box! So, it was worth the purchase! I think it was a good day to get my last box; the last day Memebox Global will be open. I hope great things will come in the US shop, but I am doubtful. XD
Opened Cutie Pie Marzia 4 box… why were there 4 of these?
The box, when opened and things tossed around a bit, looked nice and full! :3 Ah, that made me happy and reminded me of early Memeboxes where the box was actually full instead of being packed in the bottom with tissue paper. XD No filler here!
Everyone really hates on Shara Shara, but I actually am probably the only person in the universe who loves Shara Shara. :3 I tried this cream and it seems like a run-of-the-mill all-on-one moisturizing cream… except it REALLY DOES smell like bananas so I AM IN LOVE. Seriously, the scent is AH-MAZING! I would say go and buy it just for the scent. If you love banana scent, you need this in your life. I mean it! I’m going to start using it tonight. That is how much I love the scent. XD
SharaShara Natural Shining BB Cream
SharaShara Natural Shining BB Cream 40g – $28
Okay, I would never pay $28 for this tiny tube of BB cream, especially because it is comparable to Skin 79 Diamond Prestige, which isn’t very expensive. It has almost the same texture and grey cast of that BB cream. I would say it is a dupe. XD The picture is cute, but I like the Skin 79 packaging better. D: So, I would recommend that one instead! It really does do about the same thing, though. If you don’t like grey cast bb cream, you’d probably hate this, and the other one.
Vivito Painting Single Shadow Shimmer x2, $7 (each?)
These are actually cute little eyeshadows with a decent amount of pigment! I got Shy Pink and Coco Brown, which blend lovely together. I am surprised. I’ve never gotten decent eyeshadow from Memebox, so I am super happy. Much wow.
much shadow
As you can see, not too bad! :3 Perfect amount of shimmer for me!
Amini Bath Bomb and Inoface Modeling Cup
Amini Relaxing Bath Bomb – Lavender – 120g – $10
Would never pay $10 for this bath bomb, especially when there are tons on Etsy for maybe $4, but it was still a lovely thing to get in cute packaging!
Inoface Modeling Cup Pack – 15g – $4
I got boring Chlorella. I was hoping for peppermint! but the little cup is cute so I’m happy. :3 Hopefully this one won’t look like vomit like the one I got from Tester Korea.
Not much excitement, but useable!
AHC Private Real Eye Cream – 30ml – $64
Not too exciting for me, because eye creams aren’t exciting to me, but here, an eye cream! It’s support to help with dark circles, so I’m gonna try it out. It says it is good for all over the face, but uh, wouldn’t that be any eye cream? I’m the type that sees eye creams as being kinda gimmicky, so whatevs. XD
Lassie’el Juicy Strawberry Facial Mask x3, $12
These masks look really gooey in the package. o.o I think it’ll be a mess when I use them, but we’ll see! I love strawberry anything, and masks, so I am happy to have these!
Overall, I think this was a very solid box, concidering the previous Cutie Pie boxes looked pretty bad to me. 😀 It was a nice little goodbye to Memebox Global as well. Oh, Memebox, I will miss you so much.
I found Japan Gift Bay while searching for an easy way to get the Pure Smile Snail lip treatments that everyone in the Memebox world raves about! If you’ve never heard of the site, they sell Japanese beauty products and are located in Japan. I know there are a lot of Hong Kong based Japanese beauty sites, but this one appealed to me because it is actually in Japan.
Above is the shipping envelope. Nothing too exciting! I was able to get two lip balms shipped airmail. The airmail shipping charge was only $3.90 for them. I think this is pretty darn reasonable! So, the shipping is great. I ordered it on the 14th. Shipped on the 15th. Got them on the 21st!! I think this is a new record for international shipping to me…
Pretties for the lips!
I purchased Canmake Lip Plumer and Pure Smile Snail Lip Treatment in chocolate!
Canmake lip plumper looks pinkish when coming out of the tube, but it goes on glossy and clear. I didn’t notice any tint. It does tingle a tiny bit, but the lip plumping effects are dubious. However, it is super moisturizing! It did amazing things to my lips, so I am very pleased with this product.
Pure Smile Snail Lip Treatment – Chocolate
The Pure Smile Snail Lip Treatment comes in a super cute package! I picked the chocolate flavor because, well, chocolate. It is clear, but it has an amazing chocolate scent! I love that because while I’m wearing it, I smell chocolate. Though, it does make me want some chocolate! >__< It is even more moisturizing than the Canmake stuff. It just weirds me out a bit because of the snail thing, but hey, I’ll use it if it heals my crummy lips! The only thing is it feels strange on. I’m not sure how to describe it. It just feels kinda heavy, so I think I may only wear this at night. But it is fantastic!
So there it is! 😀 My very small haul! But I do recommend this store and I will be shopping there again really soon!
